Kerry Ellis, currently starring as London’s Elphaba, is to recreate her award-winning performance on Broadway. Kerry will play her final performance in London on 7 June 2008 before beginning performances at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre from 17 June 2008. Following her Broadway engagement, Kerry will return to the London production at the end of the year.

Kerry Ellis has won the 2008 Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers’ Choice Award for best takeover in a role. Kerry took over the role of Elphaba in London’s production of Wicked on 1 January 2007 from Idina Menzel in the original London cast. A record-breaking 25,000 people voted for the Theatregoers’ Choice awards this year.
